Jackie Robinson is an accomplished quilter and teacher having been involved with quilting and teaching for many years. She owns Animas Quilts Publishing, which features her quilt designs in books and patterns. Recently, she added fabric designs. Jackie says that designing fabrics seemed the natural thing to do. She was dreaming about quilt patterns and dreaming of the fabrics for them, and that led to designing fabrics.

Her latest fabric line, Chickadees & Berries, is a wonderful Benartex fabric collection that was inspired by a special friend who repeatedly told Jackie what a great subject they would be. OESD has transformed this fabric into a beautifully stitched compilation of charming chickadees and other seasonal elements. This embroidery collection features six different styles of chickadees, different types of leaves and branches, a few berries, a pinecone, paisley designs, and a few outline quilting designs.

When asked why she decided to use Chickadees & Berries for machine embroidery, Jackie stated “I wanted individual Chickadees and their environment parts, without busy backgrounds. They are wonderful, don’t you agree?” Yes, we do agree! These feathered friends are so realistic – and full of life.

Jackie says, “I think they are precious, and think they have winter decorating appeal.” Jackie envisions the Chickadees & Berries design collection being stitched for “quilts, of course”, but other inspirational ideas include bags, ornaments, table runners and table toppers.
